Asim Junaidi brings over 22 years of international banking and corporate leadership to Pollen Hub. His career spans senior finance roles across 25 markets in the Middle East, Africa, and beyond, with deep expertise in strategy design, financial planning and analytics, cost management, digital transformation, and Islamic banking governance.
Standard Chartered Bank
Prior to founding Pollen Hub, Asim spent nearly two decades at Standard Chartered Bank, where he held progressively senior roles across multiple geographies:
Regional Head, Financial Performance & Analytics, Middle East & Africa
Based in the Dubai International Financial Centre, partnering with the Regional CEO and Business Heads across 25 diverse markets
CFO, Islamic Banking
Overseeing the financial governance and performance of the bank’s Islamic banking franchise
Financial Controller, UAE
Managing capital, Central Bank relationships, balance sheet optimisation, regulatory reporting, and KPMG audits
CFO, Consumer Banking and Wholesale Banking (Pakistan)
Guiding business units to achieve revenue and operating profit targets through disciplined cost management and performance frameworks
During his tenure at Standard Chartered, Asim led cost optimisation initiatives across business lines, developed a net zero prototype for the bank's sustainability agenda, contributed to digital banking efforts in Africa, and managed central bank relationships across multiple jurisdictions.
RAKBANK
He subsequently served as Head of Strategic Cost Management and Finance Transformation at RAKBANK (National Bank of Ras Al Khaimah), where he managed a bank-wide cost management programme and designed and scoped the modules for an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system implementation.
Early Career
Asim's early career at Procter & Gamble and ICI Pakistan provided a strong foundation in financial analysis, treasury management, and operational finance within multinational FMCG and industrial environments.
